Transportable homes NZ
A transportable home is built off site and trucked to yours. Ours do the same, but travel folded and open out on site in about an hour, with walls, wiring and plumbing already done. From $28,000 including GST.
Internal walls, the kitchen, bathroom and toilet, internal plumbing, wiring, lighting and power points are installed before it leaves. On site it is unfolded, roofed and finished.
It opens out in about an hour and is ready to live in within one to three days. Your local plumber and electrician make the final connections.
From a ~25m² studio to the ~76m² Comfort 40. Double-wing models come open plan or with one to three bedrooms at $1,000 a bedroom, and an extra room is an option on top.
Every model and layout is priced, including GST, and sea freight to the nearest New Zealand port is included.

Stock held in Auckland can be delivered within days. A custom order is roughly 4 weeks in production plus 6–8 weeks shipping. Sea freight to the nearest suitable New Zealand port is included in the price; road transport from the port to your section is about $380 an hour, and if your site needs a crane to set the home in place, that is quoted separately before delivery.
Installation is itemised and every stage is optional: use our team, your own builder, or do part of it yourself.
| Stage | What it covers | Approx. |
|---|---|---|
| 1 | Unfolding and setting up the home | $3,000 |
| 2 | Roof and deck installation | $3,000 |
| 3 | Interior finishing: trims, sealing, adjustment | $3,000 |
Every stage is optional. Do it yourself, use your own builder, or use us. Final connections to water, power and drainage are made by your local plumber and electrician.
Whether your project needs a building consent depends on what you are building and where, and your council confirms it for your site. Since 15 January 2026 a granny flat up to 70m² can be built without a building consent if it meets every one of MBIE’s conditions — the conditions, explained. We are working towards full Building Code compliance and are not there yet; here is where we have got to.
